Much of my research informs public health policy and clinical guidelines.
Evidence in the Policy Record
Work I’ve contributed to has been cited in more than 200 policy and guideline documents, more than 40 of them from the World Health Organization, alongside reports from national governments and public health agencies in more than 25 countries. Other citing bodies include the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, the World Bank, the Pan American Health Organization, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, the Council of the European Union, the Gates Foundation, and the World Economic Forum. More than 60 of those reports have in turn been cited over 600 times across hundreds of further policy texts.
Dialogue, Debate & Advocacy
- Howard H. Garrison Advocacy Fellowship, Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology (FASEB): a 2026-27 fellowship training scientists to advocate for federal research funding and evidence-based policy.
- Catalyzing Advocacy in Science and Engineering (CASE) Workshop, American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), sponsored by the American Statistical Association (2023): training in the federal budget process and effective science advocacy on Capitol Hill.
- Public Policy Institute for Rising Leaders, American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE): selected to attend (fall 2023).
- Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) Agora Institute, Dialogue and Debate Initiative: as a student advisory committee member, originated and organized a debate held in October 2023, and helped organize the series that grew into The Hopkins Forum, hosted at the Hopkins Bloomberg Center in Washington, DC.
- Scholars Strategy Network: member, and author of the key findings brief Matching the Healthiest States Won’t Be Enough to Fix American Life Expectancy (scholar profile).

A reflection I contributed on the future of public service was selected by the National Academy of Public Administration for its Celebrating the American Public Servant exhibit, debuting at the Library of Congress in June 2026.
